Managing Director

Gbenga HASSAN

Gbenga has over 28 years of private equity, principal investing, and financial advisory experience in the international and West African markets.

He manages Àrgentil’s principal investing and asset management business including the Àrgentil Principal Investment Portfolio I (APIP I) which is fully exited. He has led investments made by APIP II including Tempo Housing Nigeria Limited, winner of the Private Equity Africa Deal of the Year (Small Cap) 2019 award.

Gbenga sits on the APIP II Investment Committee and the board of its investee companies. He has also led principal investments in Sygen Pharmaceuticals and First Modular Gas Systems Limited and Àrgentil’s investments into two fund managers and early-stage investments. Previously, Gbenga was responsible for identifying, originating, and executing private equity transactions in West Africa at Aureos Capital, specialising in deal structuring, valuation, and portfolio management. He also worked with Standard Bank London and Stanbic Bank Nigeria in various corporate and project finance roles.

He holds an MSc from University College London and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Femi Oladehin

Femi has over 28 years of research, portfolio management, financial advisory, private equity, and corporate finance experience in the international and West African markets. Femi currently co-manages Àrgentil’s principal investments and asset management business including a discretionary credit portfolio APIP I that is fully exited.

He sits on the APIP II Investment Committee and the board of its investee companies. Prior to Àrgentil, Femi was the Managing Director of the investment banking subsidiary of BGL Plc with overall responsibility for the structured finance, corporate finance, and principal investment business. Femi also held senior roles in Rand Merchant Bank, Stanbic Bank Nigeria (now Stanbic IBTC), and Asset & Resource Management Investment Fund Managers (ARM). At ARM he led and oversaw several of the company’s principal investments.

He holds an MBA and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Nigeria.

Adekunle Adedeji

  • Over 26 years of technical, financial & management experience in the international and African energy sectors.
  • Managed various oil and gas, energy and corporate finance transactions in excess of US$4b and led the listing of an indigenous E&P company on a “Tier 1” international stock exchange.
  • Previous experiences include Inter Pipeline Fund in Calgary, Canada where he was integral to the valuation, structuring and financing of over US$10b transactions and KBC Technologies, Canada where he managed the development of simulation/modeling software for oil refineries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.
  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wales, United Kingdom.
  • MBA from Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada.

Olumide Ogunfowora

  • Over 26 years of economic and financial experience in the International and sub-Saharan Africa upstream, midstream, pipeline transportation and power generation sectors.
  • Managed various O&G, midstream and power transactions in excess of US$4b in Nigeria and other Sub-Saharan Africa countries including acquisitions, divestments, farm-ins/farm-outs and capital raising.
  • Previous experiences include Inter Pipeline Fund, Canada where he managed commercial, commodity hedging & business development functions in the NGL sector and various CF roles with TransCanada Pipelines, Enron Corporation, Edison Mission Energy and Williams Energy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria
  • MBA from the University of Calgary, Canada
  • CFA Charter holder.
