AVCA CONFERENCE 2024 SPOTLIGHTS GBENGA HASSAN
At the AVCA2024 conference in Johannesburg, Argentil Capital Management Limited (ACML) Managing Partner Gbenga Hassan participated in a panel discussion titled “When Health is Wealth: Unlocking Opportunities for Health Financing in Africa” He was joined by industry experts Romen Mathieu (The EuroMena Funds), Sandrine Henton (EG Capital), Koome Imathiu (Ascent Securities And Capital Services Private Limited), and Skander Oueslati (AfricInvest Group).
The panel explored opportunities for private sector investment in African healthcare using various instruments such as debt, mezzanine, and equity. They also highlighted the regulatory challenges faced by private market investors and emphasized the importance of ongoing stakeholder engagement to secure the necessary funding for delivering affordable healthcare and medications.
